How we use your information

Last updated: 11 October 2026

Who is responsible

Soleá Bistro, 5–7 Norfolk Street, Cambridge CB1 2LD, is responsible for the personal information collected through this website. Contact: info@soleabistro.co.uk or +44 7522 111442.

Information we collect

For reservations we collect your name, email address, booking details, selected area and party size; your telephone number and any note are optional. For an unanswered assistant enquiry we collect your question and the contact details you provide.

Why we use it

We use this information to check availability, manage and confirm reservations, send cancellation links, contact you about your visit, answer enquiries, prevent misuse and keep necessary operational records. Our lawful bases are taking steps at your request and performing the booking agreement, our legitimate interests in operating the restaurant, and legal obligations where applicable.

Services that process data

Information may be processed by our website and database hosting provider, email delivery provider, Telegram for administrator alerts, and Google Gemini when you use the AI assistant. The assistant sends your question and relevant restaurant information to Google; reservation details entered in the booking form are not sent to Gemini. We configure these services only for the stated purposes and do not sell customer data. Some providers may process information outside the United Kingdom using recognised transfer safeguards.

Reservation deposits

Square processes deposit payments on its hosted checkout page. Card details are entered directly with Square and are not stored by this website. We retain the payment identifier, amount and status alongside the reservation for reconciliation and support.

Retention

Reservation records are normally retained for up to 24 months, unanswered enquiries for up to 12 months, and security or delivery logs for up to 90 days, unless a longer period is required for a legal claim or statutory duty.

Your choices and rights

You can ask to access, correct, erase or restrict your information, object to certain uses, or request a portable copy where applicable. Contact us using the email above. You may also complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.

Important note

Please do not place sensitive medical details in free-text fields. For serious allergies, contact the restaurant directly so staff can discuss current ingredients and cross-contamination risks.
